NATIONAL, INCLUSIVE AND DEMOCRATIC
We operate as a democratic organisation with a membership that chooses its own representatives at an annual election. The views our representatives take to governments, services, researchers and other organisations are shaped by the experiences shared by communities in our Virtual Town Halls and by other communication with our membership and supporters. We are continuing to expand our membership and will be regularly hosting Virtual Town Halls to build this national conversation together.

We are a community of colleagues, all with experience of suicide and professional backgrounds in many areas of suicide sector. This includes policy, research, advocacy and services, especially community-based or peer-led approaches like suicide prevention collaboratives, Alternatives to Suicide, and new services that provide options other than emergency departments for people in crisis.
We also have many decades of professional experience in fields such as mental health, alcohol and other drugs, disability, housing and homelessness, small business, law, human rights, Aboriginal health, multicultural affairs, defence and veterans affairs, education, public health and community development.
We are spread across Australia's states and territories with most of us living in regional and rural areas.
